How GM Classic & Sportscar collects, uses, and protects your personal data in line with UK GDPR.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who we are

GM Classic & Sportscar LTD ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal information you provide through this website. We are responsible for how your data is collected, used, and protected in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. The data we collect

When you submit an enquiry or enter a giveaway we collect the details you give us directly: your name, email address, telephone number (if provided), and the content of your message or competition entry. We do not collect special category or criminal data via our forms.

3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

We process your enquiry data on the lawful basis of your consent (given via the consent checkbox on the form) to respond to your enquiry and progress any sale or service request. Giveaway entries are processed on the basis of contract performance and consent to administer the competition and contact the winner. Where you tick the marketing opt-in, we send promotional material on the basis of your consent.

4. Sharing and recipients

We share your enquiry details with relevant members of our sales team by email to respond to you. We do not sell your data. We may use third-party processors (such as email delivery and hosting providers) who act on our instructions and under appropriate data processing agreements.

5. International transfers

Where a processor is located outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or the UK GDPR transfer mechanisms to ensure your data is protected to UK standards.

6. Data retention

Enquiry data is retained for as long as necessary to respond to and manage your enquiry, and thereafter for the period needed to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Giveaway entry data is retained for the duration of the competition plus a reasonable period for record-keeping, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, request rectification of inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

8. Marketing

Marketing communications are only sent where you have given explicit, unticked-by-default consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any communication. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

9. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures aligned with recognised information security standards (ISO 27001 principles) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit, and secure hosting.

10. Cookies

This website uses minimal cookies necessary for it to function. Where non-essential cookies or analytics are used, they are kept to a minimum and subject to your control through your browser settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to review it periodically.

12. Contact and complaints

For any privacy request, question, or complaint, email gmullaney@gmclassicandsportscar.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
